Upon making peace with the State of Israel, Morocco’s Ambassador to the UN Omar Hilale called for the creation of a bridge for peace between his country and the Jewish state: “There is no alternative to peace. We are all sons of Abraham. The sons of Abraham always at the end of the day will sit together to make peace and to build a future for the next generation.”
The Moroccan Ambassador’s remark came after the Burj Khalifa lit up for Hanukkah following the historic peace agreement being signed between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. As we speak, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Bhutan have all recently made peace with Israel, one after the other.
Following these developments, former Israeli Communication Minister Ayoob Kara proclaimed: “Good evening to the free world from Israel. Good day to the State of Morocco. I hope that in the coming days, there will be more peace agreements and that also the Yemenites, the Tunisians, the Kurds, and especially the Iraqis will also make peace with us. Good week and amen!”
