In an interview on Israeli radio, former Israeli Communication Minister Ayoob Kara emphasized that in the Persian Gulf states, “they receive Israelis with honor and in Hebrew.” He noted that the Israeli singer Omar Adam has already taken advantage of this: “He took advantage of what we built for many years. There are also locals who sing in Hebrew. We need to educate our people to take advantage of this.”
In response to leftists and others who are critical of the Abraham Accords, Kara declared: “When you give a Nobel Prize to people that murder and blow up buses, this is considered acceptable for there were concessions. However, here, there were no concessions. For some, the politics matters more than the State of Israel. But for me, the State of Israel matters more than the Likud. I don’t have this problem. If someone does good for the State of Israel, they also do me well.”
Kara emphasized that it would be catastrophic if the State of Israel did not take advantage of the fact that the Persian Gulf countries are united against Iran in order to proceed with a wave of peace agreements: “I want that people will have it well. Because two of my brothers were killed in Lebanon, I don’t want another mother to cry when we send soldiers to Lebanon.”
