In a recent speech, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “We won’t permit Iran to entrench itself in Syria, Lebanon or any other place. We won’t permit Iran to get a nuclear weapon. It is forbidden to return to the previous nuclear agreement. We need an uncompromising policy, so that Iran won’t get a nuclear weapon. It is our right to stand against Iran’s nuclear program and the nuclear agreement with Iran. Many Arab countries stand beside us in this approach.”
Following this speech, former Israeli Communication Minister Ayoob Kara proclaimed that Saudi Arabia and the other moderate Persian Gulf countries stand united with Israel if the US decides to change its direction regarding Iran: “The current US policy must continue at the same level until the Iranian regime collapses.”
According to Kara, it is not enough merely to seek to control certain policies of the Iranian regime: “The Iranian regime must be made to collapse as soon as possible for they are the number one state sponsor of terrorism globally and a threat to world peace, from Latin America and Africa to Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia.” Kara emphasized these points when he was interviewed by Radio SOAA, an Arabic language radio station in Washington, DC.
