It was recently reported in various media outlets that Kosovo has opened an embassy in Jerusalem, thus making the country the first Muslim majority nation to do so. In a recent Facebook post, MK Ayoob Kara proclaimed: “I commend Kosovo, a Muslim country, for opening an embassy in Jerusalem.”
Other countries that have opened embassies in Jerusalem include the United States, the Czech Republic and Guatemala. Kosovo took this step, even though Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that relocating the Kosovan embassy to Jerusalem could damage their nation’s ties with Turkey.
MK Kara noted that Israel “has never witnessed such positive momentum” for peace, adding: “The Israeli spring continues with other countries signing peace agreements soon. It is impossible to stop this process.”
