It was recently reported that Israel has joined the World Logistics Passport, a major policy initiative that was established to increase trade opportunities between emerging markets. Israel is the tenth country to join this Dubai-led initiative. Other members include South Africa, India, Indonesia, etc.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, attended the virtual signing ceremony at the Federation of the Israeli Chambers of Commerce and proclaimed: “Dubai is a global trading mega hub with world-class infrastructure that enables the movement of goods between nations through the fastest routes possible, creating time and cost efficiencies.”

“Today, we welcome the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce into the World Logistics Passport, as we further strengthen and elevate ties between our two nations,” he added. “Through the WLP, we aspire to forge closer economic ties and harness our collective experience, to unlock new trade opportunities for Israel with the world, via Dubai, and with Tel Aviv as a major logistics center.”

Following this development, MK Ayoob Kara proclaimed: “I congratulate the Emirate government and especially my good friend Sultan bin Sulayem on joining Israel in the World Logistics Passport alliance. This is an international alliance led by Dubai that was signed yesterday. It strengthens the Sons of Abraham Alliance, increases the volume of trade in the world market and it will also help Israeli companies to expand their scope.”

“The Sons of Abraham Alliance continues to be strengthened, despite the attempt by the new US administration to change American policy to the Middle East,” he added. “I have no doubt that more countries will join the Abraham Accords.”
